Kevin DeLisa - Vocal Coach

Kevin DeLisa is a charismatic vocal educator with degrees in Music Education from Ithaca College and Columbia University. His goal is to show the fun in progressing as a musician through composition, technique, cultural comprehension and performance. Kevin focuses on modern styles of music education, such as Vocal Jazz, Contemporary Commercial Music and Musical Theater.  His experiences have brought him to accompany choirs like the Ithaca Gay Men’s Chorus, as well as perform at venues like Lincoln Center and the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA).  Kevin’s participation in distance learning is where his expertise shines.  Throughout the pandemic, he has accrued ample experience in virtual music education, where his online lessons have paralleled the studio and classroom space.  His vocal pedagogy is holistic; his teaching circles all modern genres to create an efficient and flexible vocal mechanism. He also gives thought to a democratized approach to private lessons, tailoring the experience to an individual's learning style. Kevin DeLisa's teaching has been praised for efficiency and quick, tangible changes to the musical mind, and he hopes to help you achieve your vocal dreams!

Kevin has also been nationally recognized for his Vocal and A Cappella arrangements, receiving Nominations from the ICCA vocal competition in 2018 and a CARA A Cappella award for Best Male Collegiate Arrangement in 2021.  He has written over 70 vocal arrangements, with experience writing for High School, Collegiate and Professional vocal ensembles.

He is looking forward to helping YOU achieve your musical dreams.

What People Are Saying...

Matthew Gately

"Kevin is especially good at meeting me where I am, and focusing on reinforcing what is going well. He remember the things that work and continues them, tailoring lessons to the ways I learn best. At the end of each lesson, we recap what we could tell improved, and candidly talk about where I'm still struggling as a way to transition into the next lesson. My ear is improving, and I'm becoming more confident in my singing as a result."

Asher Danton

"Kevin is an excellent teacher and human. He has a way of making even the most difficult concepts seem tangible and accessible. My singing/arranging ability has exponentially increased from when I started working with him."
